Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer responsible for developing and maintaining scalable, high-quality full-stack applications and infrastructure to support Samsara's IoT platform, with a focus on performance, reliability, and customer impact in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, build, test, and deliver full stack features across front-end, back-end, and mobile platforms.
- Evaluate and improve the performance, reliability, and user experience of applications.
- Propose and lead technical solutions for team initiatives.
- Mentor, develop, and support other engineers on the team.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and customers to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- 7 years of relevant industry experience in software development
- Strong programming coding fundamentals with proficiency in at least one of the following: Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React, Kotlin or similar frameworks
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage technical discussions and mentor junior engineers
- Expertise working with web services at massive scale deployed on hyperscalers such as AWS, GCP or Azure
- Expert in writing high-quality, performant, and maintainable code in a modern programming language
- Expertise working on large-scale enterprise software applications
- Hands-on experience applying AI ML techniques or leveraging AI-driven tools to improve system reliability, developer productivity, or customer-facing features
