Job Description
A Sales Engineer at Samsara is responsible for supporting the sales team by providing technical expertise on IoT hardware, sensors, and cloud solutions, assisting with product demonstrations, integrations, and customer technical inquiries to help clients improve their physical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Global Sales Team with technical inquiries and maintain an inbound question queue
- Support technical trials and convey the value of Samsara solutions to prospects
- Create software scripting solutions and integrations for proof of concepts
- Provide internal technical assistance and QA support for customer-related inquiries
- Produce and manage digital content for product learning, adoption, and installation
- Update and maintain hardware and software lab infrastructure and remote kits
- Coordinate and participate in new product testing activities
- Gather and highlight industry-specific customer use cases for Samsara solutions
- Coordinate cross-functional communication to ensure prospect success and support processes
Requirements
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems
- Experience tinkering with hardware gadgets, sensors, or vehicles is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline
- Preferred 1 year of experience working with customers in a pre-sales or support capacity
- Ability to create software scripting solutions and integrations to assist with technical proof of concepts
- Ability to assist with technical inquiries and tasks by monitoring and maintaining an inbound question queue
- Ability to produce and manage digital content to assist with product learning, product adoption, hardware installation, and software configuration
- Ability to update and manage internal hardware and software lab infrastructure, both in office and remote kits
- Ability to coordinate and participate in new product testing activities
- Ability to gather and highlight industry-specific customer use cases for Samsara solutions by working with technical sales teams
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional communication to ensure prospect success, including RFP responses, Product Feature Request management, and Customer Support triaging
- Experience with cloud software, networking, automation, and control systems
- Experience working with IoT hardware, sensors, or related systems is desirable
