Job Description

A Sales Engineer at Samsara is responsible for supporting the sales team by providing technical expertise, demonstrating IoT solutions, assisting with product trials, and creating integrations to help customers optimize their physical operations across various industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Global Sales Team with technical inquiries and tasks, including monitoring and maintaining an inbound question queue.
  • Support technical trials and proof of concepts by creating software scripting solutions and integrations.
  • Provide internal technical assistance and QA support for customer-related inquiries.
  • Produce and manage digital content to facilitate product learning, adoption, hardware installation, and software configuration.
  • Update and maintain hardware and software lab infrastructure, including remote kits.
  • Coordinate and participate in new product testing activities.
  • Gather and highlight industry-specific customer use cases to demonstrate solutions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional communication to ensure prospect success, including RFP responses and support triaging.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with customers in a pre-sales or support capacity.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
  • Experience with cloud software, networking, automation, and control systems.
  • Experience tinkering with hardware gadgets, sensors, or vehicles is a plus.
  • Bilingual fluency in French.
  • Ability to develop a thorough understanding of IoT hardware and sensors, hands-on installation deployment scenarios, carrier networks, cloud infrastructure, and third-party system integrations via open API.
  • Availability to work remotely within the US, excluding the specified metro areas and states listed in the job posting.
  • Willingness to assist with technical inquiries, monitor and maintain an inbound question queue, and support technical trials.
  • Capability to create software scripting solutions and integrations to assist with technical proof of concepts.
  • Ability to produce and manage digital content to assist with product learning, product adoption, hardware installation, and software configuration.
  • Experience updating and managing internal hardware and software lab infrastructure, both in office and remote kits.
  • Willingness to coordinate and participate in new product testing activities.
  • Ability to gather and highlight industry-specific customer use cases for Samsara solutions by working with technical sales teams.
  • Skill in coordinating cross-functional communication to ensure prospect success, including RFP responses, product feature request management, and customer support triaging.
