Job Description

At Samsara, we embrace a flexible working model that caters to the diverse needs of our teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Samsara is seeking a highly motivated people manager for our Operations Program Manager (OPM) team with a strong background in New Product Introduction (NPI) within the hardware manufacturing space. In this critical role, you will be managing a team of OPMs to ensure the successful operational launch of our cutting-edge products, from development through mass production and sustained volume. You will orchestrate complex cross-functional efforts, manage risks, and drive decisions that impact product cost, quality, and time to market.
  • This is a remote position based in the US. This position requires travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Lead a global Operations Program Management team based in North America and Asia to develop and launch new hardware products.
  • Own end-to-end operational execution of hardware product manufacturing from concept through mass production and sustained volume.
  • Serve as the primary operations liaison, aligning and communicating across Engineering, Product, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Develop comprehensive program plans, manage schedules, budgets, and proactively mitigate risks to ensure on-time and on-cost delivery.
  • Define and execute manufacturing strategies, collaborating with internal teams and external partners for factory readiness, capacity, and process development.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and ensure robust quality standards are met throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing preferred), Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field. A master's degree (MBA or MS) is a plus.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Operations Program Management, NPI, or related roles within a hardware manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years managing a team of at least 4 individuals.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching multiple complex hardware products from concept to high-volume production and strong understanding of hardware development lifecycles and manufacturing processes.
  • Expert-level proficiency in program/project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Confluence/JIRA). PMP certification is a plus.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and align diverse cross-functional teams.
  • Highly analytical with a strong ability to identify problems, analyze data, and develop effective solutions in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Experience working with global manufacturing partners and supply chains. Willingness to travel internationally as required (up to 20%).
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to operational excellence.
  • Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.
  • Experience in dash camera, gateway, or telematics products is a plus.
  • The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is also eligible for an initial RSU grant with no vesting cliff, and ongoing refresh opportunities tied to performance, subject to plan terms and conditions. Benefits & Perks

  • At Samsara, we build for the people who keep the global economy moving. We want owners, not passengers, which is why our rewards are designed to fuel high-impact builders. Our compensation program delivers above-market total compensation through a combination of base salary, performance-based bonus/variable pay, and equity (for eligible roles) in a high-growth public company. We meaningfully differentiate pay for our top performers, who have the opportunity to earn above-market compensation that can outpace the broader market over time.
  • Beyond compensation, we provide the foundations that enable long-term success: a flexible, employee-led remote model, a professional development stipend, comprehensive health and parental leave plans, and more. If you’re ready to build for the long term and own the outcome, your journey starts here.
