Job Description
The Head of Quantum Innovation will lead the development of a state-of-the-art quantum lab and oversee the creation of multiple quantum startups by aligning technical, market, and talent strategies to foster breakthrough innovations in quantum technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify key problems to solve in quantum technology and bring together interdisciplinary teams to develop solutions
- Lead the creation and design of a state-of-the-art quantum lab to serve as a launchpad for quantum ventures
- Define equipment specifications and operational environment for the quantum lab
- Drive venture-building initiatives by identifying market-aligned opportunities and assembling appropriate teams
- Support and build startups around world-class founders' strengths and visions
- Set strategic direction for project development, talent acquisition, and goal alignment across technical, commercial, and market disciplines
Requirements
- Experience leading the creation and development of a state-of-the-art quantum laboratory and turning it into a launchpad for multiple quantum ventures.
- Ability to define equipment specifications for quantum research and development facilities.
- Experience designing and shaping team operations within a quantum research environment.
- Proven ability to identify opportunities that align technical potential with market demand and assemble the right team to pursue them.
- Experience supporting world-class founders and building new startups around their strengths and vision.
- Ability to set the direction for what gets built in a quantum innovation environment, including defining the talent profile and securing top hires.
- Experience aligning technical, commercial, and market goals from the outset of a project or venture.
- Demonstrated ability to orchestrate multiple disciplines such as physics, engineering, fabrication, software, and market strategy to advance in sync toward breakthroughs.
- Experience leading or managing venture-building models, specifically idea-led and talent-led approaches.
- Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team toward real breakthroughs in quantum technology development.
