Job Description
A hands-on outdoor laborer role focused on restoration projects, involving site preparation, erosion control, landscaping, and general construction tasks to help restore ecosystems and protect natural resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in site preparation, landscaping, erosion control, and invasive species removal
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment, including power tools and landscape machinery
- Implement erosion and sediment control measures according to specifications
- Set up and maintain traffic control systems to ensure safety
- Conduct safety checks on tools and equipment before use
- Analyze site conditions and adapt tasks accordingly
- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and safely
- Clean and store tools and equipment at the end of each day
- Review work plans and specifications to ensure tasks meet standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of prior work experience
- Ability to operate and maintain various tools and equipment, including power tools like drills and circular saws, and landscape equipment such as chainsaws and weed eaters
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Physical ability to walk over uneven surfaces, climb on construction equipment, and navigate hills
- Comfortable working outdoors and performing tasks at ground level
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
