Job Description
A Construction Laborer I role focused on outdoor, hands-on erosion control and restoration projects, supporting environmental sustainability efforts through equipment operation, manual labor, and teamwork in a dynamic, outdoor setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment such as power tools, chainsaws, water pumps, skid steers, and GPS devices.
- Implement erosion and sediment control measures according to detailed specifications.
- Conduct safety checks on tools and equipment before use.
- Analyze site conditions and adapt tasks to changing environmental factors.
- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment at the end of each day.
- Review work plans and specifications to ensure tasks meet standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Applicable construction experience, farm hand, or working outside for at least 1 year
- Ability to operate and maintain various tools and equipment, including power tools, landscape equipment like chainsaws, water pumps, skid steers, and GPS equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Capable of walking over uneven surfaces, climbing on construction equipment, and navigating hills
- Comfortable working outdoors and performing tasks at ground level
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Mechanically inclined
