Job Description
The Senior Construction Project Engineer at Redwood Materials is responsible for managing construction activities related to battery recycling and manufacturing facilities, ensuring project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety protocols are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all scopes of construction including scheduling, inspections, and compliance to plans and specifications.
- Coordinate and analyze shop drawings, design specifications, and material requirements to ensure quality and adherence to contract specifications.
- Track project schedule and budget, identify risks, and report on project performance.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement processes, and scope schedules.
- Ensure safety compliance through job hazard analyses and safety meetings.
- Plan field layout, coordinate permits, and oversee utility and line marking before construction begins.
- Review project specifications for quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project documentation, certificates, inspections, and close-out procedures.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, engineering teams, and project management to coordinate work methods and schedules.
- Assist with project estimating, develop design drawings, and provide technical input as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.
- At least 5 years of construction engineering, scheduling, or design experience is required.
- Intermediate knowledge of cost coding, cost savings, budget, and other project-related financial implications is required.
- Intermediate knowledge of scheduling processes and industry best practices is required.
- Intermediate interpersonal relationship skills, including the ability to build positive relationships towards a common goal, are required.
- Knowledge of construction equipment techniques, drawing specifications, building materials, and required standards applicable to the project is required.
- Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others is required.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment is required.
- Verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Proven self-starter and self-motivated to learn and grow knowledge are required.
- Construction engineering experience or knowledge is required.
- Physical ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions, including meeting productivity standards, lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs, bending, lifting, and carrying objects over 50 lbs, walking up and down stairs carrying weight, and working in various environments including outdoors, hazardous materials, loud noise, fires, or extreme weather conditions, is required.
- Must be able to work weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
- This is a full-time position.
