Job Description
The Senior Manager, Production at Redwood Materials oversees daily manufacturing operations in a metallurgical facility, focusing on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement to meet production goals while leading and developing a team in a fast-paced, environmentally conscious setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily manufacturing operations and maintenance in the metallurgical facility
- Oversee and improve plant efficiency, safety, and quality standards
- Supervise and develop production and maintenance teams, including setting goals and evaluating performance
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and training programs
- Drive continuous improvement of workplace and plant conditions
- Coordinate production activities, including feedstock, equipment, and labor management
- Build and maintain a safety-focused and positive company culture
- Collaborate with support departments to secure resources and support for projects
- Respond to emergency issues and support 24/7 plant operations
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years direct management experience in a manufacturing environment, with proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
- Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate the staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations
- Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean methodologies
- Strong and demonstrated effective verbal, written, and listening skills and professional telephone skills and manners
- Ability to analyze, create, and effectively communicate analyses with all levels of employees, management, suppliers, and customers
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office - Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Must be able to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature
- Ability to safely perform job duties in both office and production environments
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed
- Must maintain regular and punctual attendance in alignment with company and regulatory standards
- Must be able to communicate clearly
- Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time
- Must be able to flex schedule to support 24/7 x 365 plant operations, including responding to emergency issues or critical events outside of normal business hours
- Ability to work in a split environment between office and production facility, with extended periods of working in the production facility
- Physical ability to perform job duties in both office and production environments
