Job Description

The Packaging Specialist at Redwood Materials is responsible for executing packaging operations, including inspecting, verifying, and managing the packaging of returnable materials to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency in support of the company's recycling and energy storage initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute packaging operations, including material moves, inspections, and audits
  • Inspect, verify, and report on packaging quality, ensuring damage-free and standards compliance
  • Support warehouse management to maintain operational excellence and organization
  • Perform handling, storage, and movement of returnable packaging materials
  • Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure smooth packaging flow and dispatch
  • Monitor and manage stock levels of packaging materials
  • Assist in process improvements for packaging operations
  • Follow safety protocols during packaging and inspection activities

Requirements

  • Previous experience in warehouse, packaging, or operations roles.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to inspect packaging materials for defects.
  • Familiarity with USDOT Dangerous Goods shipping and preparation.
  • Experience prepping and loading trucks for shipment in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as inspecting and organizing packaging materials.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with other warehouse departments.
  • Forklift certification is preferred.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing operational challenges.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including meeting both qualitative and quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance in line with ADA, FMLA, and applicable standards.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety gloves, helmets, and eyewear, or additional PPE when required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone, including listening and speaking.
  • Working in warehouse setting, manufacturing floor, outdoor job site, or office work.
  • Required to work weekends, evenings, on-call shifts, or extended hours as needed.
  • Occasional or frequent travel for meetings, site visits, or events.
  • This is a full-time position.
