Job Description
Redwood Materials is seeking a skilled Class A Truck Driver to deliver freight across long distances, ensuring safe and timely deliveries while performing vehicle maintenance and adhering to regulations. The role involves route planning, load securing, and maintaining detailed logs to support the company's sustainable energy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver freight over long distances across the country
- Plan efficient delivery routes and ensure on-time delivery
- Perform pre-departure truck inspections and document freight condition
- Secure freight and monitor its safe transportation during trips
- Supervise loading and unloading of freight and obtain delivery signatures
- Conduct routine truck maintenance checks and minor repairs
- Log driving hours, distances, fuel, repairs, and toll expenses
- Communicate delays or issues to dispatchers
- Comply with federal and state trucking regulations
Requirements
- Applicable Commercial Driver's License Class A CDL
- Over 3 years of experience operating Dry Van and or Yard Goat vehicles
- Experience as a Long-Haul Truck Driver
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
- Must be able to bend, lift, and carry objects over 50 lbs
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs carrying weight
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
- Winter Driving experience is a must
- Knowledge of federal and state laws that regulate the road freight transport industry
- Knowledge of route planning, using both road maps and GPS devices
- Physical ability to perform essential job functions including climbing, standing, stooping, or typing
- Must be able to work weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job
- The position is full-time

Full-time position
Work schedule: C Shift Thursday - Saturday, Alternating Wednesdays 6am to 6pm
Work environment includes outdoor conditions, inclement weather, hazardous materials, loud noise, fires, extreme heat or cold
Physical requirements include lifting up to 100 lbs, bending, walking, climbing, standing, stooping, typing
