Job Description
A Manufacturing Engineer responsible for developing, optimizing, and scaling production lines for high-voltage energy storage systems, including assembly line design, process validation, troubleshooting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and high-quality manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and bring up new in-house assembly lines for NPI volume production
- Establish takt-time targets and optimize line balance for efficiency
- Troubleshoot line issues and implement corrective actions to improve yield and build quality
- Own DFM and DFT efforts, providing feedback to engineering
- Collaborate with quality and test engineering to ensure process stability and defect containment
- Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and cost-reduction opportunities
Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering or related field
- 5 - 10 years of experience in production support or NPI for high-power electronics or electro-mechanical assemblies
- Strong technical knowledge of SMT, reflow, box build, mechanical assembly, and HV safety processes
- Ability to write and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and training documents
- Experience working with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) on high-volume production environments
- Familiarity with MES systems, Python, SQL for data extraction, or Lean Six Sigma certification
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
- Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time
- Essential physical requirements such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing
- Occasional work weekends, nights, or being on-call as a regular part of the job
- Occasional travel requirements
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $140,000 - $220,000 USD
