The Development Engineering Technician supports research and pilot-scale operations by building and maintaining laboratory and manufacturing equipment, conducting experiments, and assisting in the development of new processes and metrology systems to advance sustainable battery materials.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain laboratory and pilot-scale equipment
Prepare solutions and conduct wet-chemistry bench experiments
Perform chemical analyses, optical measurements, and mechanical tests
Monitor and troubleshoot experiments in lab and high-volume manufacturing environments
Support the development and validation of new metrology systems
Requirements
Associates or bachelor s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on laboratory experience, and ability to build and maintain complex mechanical systems
Laboratory experience in wet-chemistry and bench top experiments
Ability to prepare solutions, conduct chemical analyses, optical measurements, and mechanical tests
Experience supporting the development and validation of new metrology systems and proving their capabilities
Ability to follow and apply established procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements
Ability to manage multiple tasks, shifting priorities, and competing deadlines in a fast-paced operational environment
Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to hazardous materials, noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes while wearing required PPE for extended periods
Ability to safely perform job duties in both office and production environments, including working in challenging conditions with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes while protected by PPE
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed
Must maintain regular and punctual attendance in alignment with company and regulatory standards
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong organization and documentation skills
Willingness to work in a split environment between office and production facility, including occasional work weekends or alternate shifts to support production needs
