The Payroll Manager oversees the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 1,200 employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while managing a payroll team and collaborating with HR and Finance departments.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the full-cycle payroll process for a multi-state workforce, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
Supervise and support a payroll team, providing mentorship and workflow coordination.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
Review and approve payroll entries, adjustments, retroactive payments, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
Ensure accurate and timely filing of payroll taxes and statutory reporting, including W-2s.
Partner with HR and Finance to reconcile payroll-related accounts and support audits and month-end close processes.
Manage payroll systems, including system upgrades, integrations, and vendor relationships.
Stay updated on payroll regulation changes to ensure ongoing compliance.
Requirements
Maintain accurate inventory records in Oracle WMS, ensuring timely updates for all movements and adjustments to minimize discrepancies.
Oversee and manage the full-cycle payroll process for a multi-state workforce, ensuring timely and accurate bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll processing.
Supervise and support a payroll team of two, providing mentorship, performance management, and workflow coordination.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Review and approve payroll entries, adjustments, retroactive payments, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
Ensure accurate and timely filing of payroll taxes, year-end processes including W-2s, and other statutory reporting.
Partner with HR and Finance to reconcile payroll-related accounts and support audits and month-end close processes.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
Manage payroll systems and act as the point of contact for system upgrades, integrations, or vendor relationships.
Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and ensure company practices remain compliant.
Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or have equivalent relevant experience.
Have at least 7 years of payroll experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a management or senior-level role.
Have strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, UltiPro, or similar platforms.
Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone, including listening and speaking.
Work in an office setting and manufacturing floor environment, with occasional exposure to noise.
Occasionally work extended hours as needed, including occasional or frequent travel for meetings, site visits, or events.
