Job Description

The Maintenance Electrician at Redwood Materials is responsible for electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment, ensuring equipment reliability, troubleshooting electrical and electromechanical systems, and supporting safe, continuous plant operations to facilitate the company's battery recycling and production efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency electrical maintenance on production and facilities equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and electromechanical issues in equipment and systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems including power distribution, control panels, lighting, PLCs, motor controls, and automation equipment.
  • Support installation, upgrades, and continuous improvement of electrical and automation systems.
  • Respond to unplanned maintenance events to restore operations quickly and safely.

Requirements

  • Must have journeyman-level electrical experience, with additional exposure to mechanical systems and industrial automation.
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with 480 VAC and lower voltages, electrical cabinets, motor controls, VFDs, drives, PLCs, and ladder logic.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in production environments.
  • Knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E safety standards with a demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.
  • Experience using a CMMS and standard computer applications for documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on production and facilities equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical and electromechanical issues, implementing effective and timely solutions.
  • Ability to support installation of new equipment, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to respond to unplanned maintenance events and coordinate repairs to restore operations quickly and safely.
  • Participation in safety activities such as LOTO, JHA activities, job walks, shift pass-downs, and CMMS documentation is required.
  • Must be able to perform the physical demands of the role, including prolonged standing over 80% of the shift, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, working in confined spaces and at heights, and operating equipment such as forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts.
  • Must be able to complete required respiratory fit testing and medical evaluation, and work a full shift while wearing PPE including full-face respirators, SCBA or supplied-air systems, Tyvek suits, and PAPRs.
  • Ability to work in varied environments, both indoors and outdoors, year-round, with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes.

Work schedule: 6:00 pm - 6:00 am Thursday - Saturday every other Wednesday
