Job Description
The Manager, Logistics at Redwood Materials oversees and leads a team responsible for international and domestic shipments, transportation, and logistics operations, ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective supply chain processes to support the company's battery recycling and energy storage initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise a team responsible for international and domestic shipments, claims, and transportation reporting
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics team
- Develop and analyze logistics KPIs and metrics to manage costs, capacity, and vendors
- Establish and analyze transportation metrics supporting warehousing, trucking, and freight operations
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support logistics processes and drive improvements
- Manage and oversee logistics projects from conception to completion
- Ensure operational processes are documented and compliant with standards
Requirements
- Experience leading a team of logistics analysts and tactical planning to ensure the success of logistics operations.
- Strong proven experience in project management and logistics for a range of commodities and finished goods, including managing projects from conception to completion.
- Deep understanding of industry standards and regulations, particularly dangerous goods (DG), and developing and executing logistics plans to support operational needs.
- Supervisory experience overseeing a team responsible for international and domestic shipments, claims, and transportation reporting.
- Ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and positive change.
- Experience developing logistics KPIs and metrics to drive cost management, capacity management, and vendor management.
- Ability to establish, maintain, and analyze transportation metrics supporting warehousing, trucking, domestic and international shipping, and freight payables, and prepare metrics for executive presentations.
- Experience partnering with transportation operations, supply chain sourcing, accounting, and various stakeholders across multiple business units to support logistics process improvements.
- Ability to identify gaps in operational efficiency and implement countermeasures to enhance performance.
- Experience actively managing and overseeing the implementation of projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to defined goals.
- Ensuring all operational processes are documented and in accordance with current standards.
- Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire and guide teams effectively.
- Experience managing projects, including planning and execution.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to input, retrieve, and interpret data effectively.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and creating dynamic spreadsheets with formulas and pivot tables.
