Job Description

The Maintenance Technician role at Redwood Materials involves providing essential maintenance support to ensure machine availability and uptime in production operations, focusing on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive diagnostic, preventive, and corrective maintenance for production facilities.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential issues.
  • Complete electromechanical component repair and replacement.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electromechanical problems.
  • Participate in safety audits and investigations, implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate in planning and scheduling maintenance with relevant teams.
  • Manage equipment maintenance across various systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical control systems, including motors and PLCs.
  • Maintain daily production records and key performance indicators.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with Production, Engineering, EHS, and Operations.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Extensive technical expertise in troubleshooting, diagnostics, maintenance, and process improvement.
  • Hands-on experience disassembling and reassembling complex mechanical systems.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Experience in troubleshooting both AC and DC electrical systems, as well as proficiency in motion control, motors, pneumatics, sensors, PLCs, and hydraulics.
  • Familiarity with 480 VAC and lower voltages, including wiring electrical cabinets.
  • Understanding of NEC codes and NFPA 70E practices.
  • Proficient in using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Capability to work in challenging conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, confined space, and temperature extremes for extended periods in full PPE suits and head covers.
  • Knowledge and proper use of safety equipment, such as safety glasses, fitted masks, PAPR, Tyvek suit, safety shoes, and other personal protective equipment when necessary.
  • Physical ability to stand, lift, and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean working environment, adhering to company policies and industry standards.
