The Material Flow Lead supports daily warehouse operations by coordinating personnel, inventory, and material movement activities to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate execution of operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate daily workflow, staffing assignments, and operational priorities to support production and material flow objectives.
Lead and support warehouse associates while promoting a strong culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
Monitor inventory accuracy, investigate discrepancies, perform inventory adjustments, and support inventory control initiatives.
Serve as a primary point of contact for operational issues, shipping and transfer requests, inventory inquiries, and cross-functional coordination.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve process, inventory, and quality-related issues while escalating concerns as appropriate.
Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Train, mentor, and coach associates on safety, quality, equipment operation, and departmental processes.
Coordinate activities with Production, Logistics, Quality, and other departments to ensure operational alignment and achievement of shared goals.
Communicate operational performance, challenges, and improvement opportunities to leadership.
Maintain compliance with all safety requirements, equipment inspection procedures, and warehouse operating standards.
Perform additional duties and special projects as required to support department objectives.
Requirements
Warehouse, logistics, inventory control, packaging, or material flow experience.
Previous leadership, lead, or supervisory experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and material handling processes.
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory transactions, and inventory reconciliation.
PIT/Forklift certification or operating experience preferred.
Strong understanding of quality standards, safety procedures, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate teams and resources in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact across all levels of the organization.
Ability to train, mentor, and develop associates while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and adapt to changing operational needs.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely perform work in a warehouse environment.
