A Hardware Technical Program Manager is responsible for leading the development, testing, and manufacturing of complex electronics assemblies, ensuring hardware is designed for reliability, thoroughly tested, and scalable from concept to volume production.
Key Responsibilities
Lead development, testing, and manufacturing of complex electronics assemblies from concept to production
Coordinate cross-functional teams across hardware engineering, validation, supply chain, and operations
Plan and manage prototype and production builds, including materials, logistics, and factory readiness
Oversee system integration, validation testing, and release of boards and flex assemblies
Partner with suppliers and contract manufacturers to drive design for manufacturability, design for test, and yield improvement
Maintain project plans, risk registers, and program dashboards, proactively managing schedule and resource risks
Serve as primary interface between Redwood engineering teams and external manufacturing partners
Provide updates to stakeholders and leadership on project status, risks, and key decisions
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline; an advanced degree is a plus.
At least 5 years of experience in hardware program management, hardware engineering, or manufacturing operations.
Proven success in driving New Product Introduction (NPI) builds and scaling hardware programs to volume production.
Strong understanding of box-level assemblies including PCBs, flex circuits, harnessing, enclosures, and thermal systems.
Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills with a proven ability to thrive in high-ambiguity environments.
Willingness to travel to Redwood's sites, suppliers, and contract manufacturers as needed, including travel to Reno, NV and the Bay Area.
Ability to safely perform job duties in both office and production environments, maintaining regular and punctual attendance in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats.
Work schedule flexibility to support site operational needs, including potential extended periods working in the production facility, exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes while protected by PPE.
Willingness to work in challenging working conditions, which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, for extended periods of time.
May require occasional work on weekends or alternate shifts to support production needs, approximately 25% of the time.

Compensation range: $153,000 - $248,500 USD
