Job Description
The Instrumentation Technician supports the verification, calibration, and repair of instrumentation across Redwood Materials' battery materials campus, ensuring compliance with quality standards and supporting production, labs, and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day verification, calibration, and repair of instrumentation across the campus
- Develop and document troubleshooting and testing methods for various devices
- Perform instrument verifications and calibrations in production environments
- Learn and evaluate the functionality of new devices
- Read technical manuals and understand device specifications
Requirements
- Support the day-to-day verification, calibration, and repair of instrumentation across the Redwood Materials Battery Materials Campus in McCarran, Nevada.
- Develop and document methods to troubleshoot and test various devices including gas analyzers, scales, pressure sensors, flow meters, temperature sensors, particulate meters, and other production critical instrumentation.
- Perform instrument verifications and calibrations in production environments to be documented for record keeping and compliance with regulatory requirements and applicable standards such as IATF16949, ISO9001, ISO17025.
- Learn new devices and how to test and evaluate the functionality of the devices by reading technical manuals and understanding specifications of various devices and how they are applied.
- Certification degree in Instrumentation Technology or Electrical Systems Technology, or relevant experience in a related position.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Excellent computer proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Physical ability to work with Tyvek suits, Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR), and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at elevated heights, including safely climbing ladders to access work areas.
- Essential physical requirements such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
- Ability to operate and train on equipment such as boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other specialized machinery.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Work performed in varied indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to hazardous materials, noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes while wearing required PPE.
