Redwood Materials is seeking a journeyman-level electrician to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems across industrial construction projects, including recycling and production facilities, with a focus on safety, technical proficiency, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Perform new installations of power distribution, transformers, lighting, and electrical equipment up to 480 VAC.
Maintain and troubleshoot various electrical components and systems.
Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and P&IDs to plan and execute work scopes.
Install, modify, and troubleshoot electrical equipment and circuits.
Test and commission electrical systems in accordance with procedures and codes.
Requirements
A minimum of 4 years of Journeyman-level or higher electrician experience in industrial or commercial environments
Proficiency with hand tools, electrical meters, and testing equipment
Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), including conductor and conduit sizing
Experience working with low- and high-voltage systems up to 480 VAC
Experience installing, modifying, and troubleshooting electrical equipment and circuits
Ability to read and interpret electrical prints, schematics, and diagrams
Knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, drives, and electronic components (preferred but not mandatory)
Ability to develop parts lists, work plans, routing, and produce as-built documentation based on drawings or field walks
Experience testing and commissioning work in accordance with Redwood Materials procedures and applicable codes
Willingness to perform job scopes outside core competencies as needed
Strong commitment to job-site safety, including hazard identification, pre-task planning, and electrical safety best practices
Physical ability to bend, lift, and carry objects over 50 lbs, perform physically demanding tasks including bending, lifting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and material handling up to 50 lbs or more as required
Ability to work safely at heights up to 60 feet, including climbing stairs and ladders while carrying tools or materials
Ability to stand for extended periods in active industrial and construction environments
Clear communication skills in person
Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and respiratory protection when required
Work performed in industrial, construction, and outdoor environments, including exposure to inclement weather, hazardous materials, loud noise, fires, and extreme heat or cold
Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated platforms, and active construction areas
Availability to work weekends, nights, or be on-call as part of regular job responsibilities
This is a full-time position with compensation commensurate with experience
