Job Description
The Test Engineering Lead at Redwood Materials is responsible for building and managing testing infrastructure and procedures for high-power electromechanical battery products, leading a team to ensure product validation and high-volume manufacturing readiness in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, and support testers for product validation and high-volume manufacturing
- Design and develop test infrastructure, including fixtures, electrical cabinets, and software for testers
- Lead and manage a test engineering team to achieve project goals and timelines
Requirements
- Seven (7) years of technical experience in mechanical, electrical, software, or related product design engineering, not necessarily in test engineering.
- Comfort with high-voltage 400-2000VDC, and 480VAC products.
- Personal technical expertise in at least one aspect of test engineering, such as designing test fixtures, electrical cabinets, or software infrastructure for testers.
- Experience developing tools, infrastructure, and design practices for a growing team.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with all levels of the organization and presenting to internal and external executives.
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time.
- Ability to perform essential physical requirements such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
- Availability to work occasional weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
- Willingness to undertake occasional travel as required by the position.
Benefits & Perks
Salary range: $166,000 - $269,000 USD
