Job Description
The Commercial Operations Specialist supports customer and supplier interactions within Redwood Materials' battery recycling and materials business, managing logistics, documentation, and program processes to ensure smooth operations and excellent service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for customer requests related to supplier onboarding, logistics, purchase orders, reporting, and compliance.
- Maintain detailed records of documents and interactions using CRM, ERP, and other systems, and suggest process improvements.
- Develop and refine processes to ensure smooth program operations and high service levels for partners.
- Create and manage supplier purchase orders and coordinate with Accounts Payable for on-time payments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to develop analytics and software supporting recycling programs.
Requirements
- Act as key point of contact for fulfilling day-to-day customer requests with regards to supplier onboarding, daily logistics requests, purchase order creation, reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Keep meticulous records of all documents and interactions utilizing our CRM, ERP, file sharing system, and home-grown portals, and suggest configuration and process improvements.
- Develop and refine processes that ensure smooth program operations and excellent service levels for shippers and corporate partners.
- Create and maintain supplier purchase orders and ensure on-time payments in collaboration with Accounts Payable.
- Work cross-functionally to develop analytics and software to support and report on the recycling programs.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures while focusing on safety and best practices.
- Possess a Bachelor’s or Associate degree.
- Have 2-4 years of working experience, ideally in sales operations, business planning, or logistics.
- Have experience or knowledge in the Commodity, Metals mining, recycled materials, or Battery Materials industry.
- Be comfortable working in a dynamic, startup environment, demonstrating independence, motivation, and self-starting attitude.
- Possess strong analytical skills.
- Be able to perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including meeting both qualitative and quantitative productivity standards.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance in line with ADA, FMLA, and applicable standards.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety gloves, helmets, and eyewear, or additional PPE when required.
- Be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Communicate clearly and effectively on the telephone, including listening and speaking.
- Work in office settings, manufacturing floors, outdoor job sites, or remotely as needed.
- Work weekends, evenings, on-call shifts, or extended hours as needed, approximately 10% of the time.
- Travel occasionally or frequently for meetings, site visits, or events.
