Job Description
The Buyer at Redwood Materials is responsible for managing procurement activities by processing purchase requisitions, issuing purchase orders, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure efficient and accurate supply chain operations, supporting the company's battery recycling and energy storage initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and validate purchase requisition requests
- Select suppliers based on quotes and procurement guidelines
- Create and issue purchase orders in ERP systems
- Track shipments and escalate delivery issues
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and coordinate with finance and suppliers
- Maintain accurate procurement data and ensure data quality
- Collaborate with teams to improve procurement efficiency
- Participate in training and onboarding of new team members
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations preferred
- Bachelor's degree in business, or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods up to 8 hours per day
- Occasional lifting of office supplies or documents up to 20 lbs
- Ability to participate in in-person meetings and supplier visits as needed
- The position is full-time and requires working in a standard office environment with regular business hours Monday through Friday
- On-site work preferred with some flexibility
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team setting with cross-functional interactions
- Occasional extended hours during peak procurement cycles or project deadlines
