Job Description

The Project Manager, Construction at Reactivate oversees the development, engineering, permitting, procurement, and construction of utility-scale renewable energy projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget management, and compliance from advanced development through to project turnover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance during project proposal, bidding, and development stages.
  • Conduct site evaluations, feasibility studies, and preliminary system designs.
  • Administer and negotiate EPC contracts and manage project contracts related to interconnection, finance, and construction.
  • Oversee project activities during advanced development, including engineering, permitting, interconnection, and procurement.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and milestones from late-stage development through commissioning and turnover.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, and construction activities, including contractor and supplier management.
  • Support permitting efforts and maintain relationships with local authorities and utilities.
  • Monitor and manage project documentation, progress reports, and stakeholder updates.
  • Lead development efforts such as landowner meetings, site inspections, and micro-siting evaluations.
  • Support internal project financing and technical discussions with lenders and engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent construction experience
  • At least 3 years of progressive project management and construction management experience
  • Renewable energy industry experience, specific to utility scale distributed generation solar projects ranging from 5-30MW
  • Construction field experience
  • Thorough understanding and implementation of projects in accordance with contracts
  • Excellent solution-seeking, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills which extend across all organizational and management levels
  • Demonstrated ability in leadership of multi-disciplined teams of engineers, outside consultants, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Experience in development and execution of complex project schedules utilizing state-of-the-art scheduling tools
  • Ability to multi-task and arbitrate between conflicting priorities with clear target setting and follow-through capability in a fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time to support project efforts
  • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements; OSHA 10 certification preferred
  • Experience with project management software such as Procore, ProjectTeam, FieldWire, BlueBeam
  • Ability to prepare, negotiate, and manage EPC Contracts and administer major project contracts including interconnection agreements, finance and offtake agreements, build-transfer agreements, consulting, equipment supply, and construction agreements
  • Experience in site evaluation, feasibility studies, preliminary system designs, permitting, interconnection studies, and procurement of equipment and services
  • Ability to create and maintain project schedules and budgets from late-stage development through project COD and turnover to operations
  • Experience managing engineering, procurement, and construction activities for project sites, including coordination with contractors, engineering, permitting consultants, and major equipment suppliers
  • Experience managing RFI s in construction management software
  • Ability to lead coordination efforts with interconnecting utilities
  • Support internal project financing and accounting efforts, including leading technical discussions with lenders' independent engineers
  • Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including schedules, budgets, progress reports, and other relevant records
  • Provide regular updates and reports to project stakeholders, including project owners and operations teams responsible for long-term asset management
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully planning and managing projects on time and within budget (preferred)
  • Experience with rooftop and carport solar installation (preferred)
  • Experience in energy storage construction development (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements (preferred)
  • NABCEP PV Installation Professional Certification (preferred)
