Job Description
A Technical Writer in this role is responsible for creating, updating, and managing high-quality technical documentation for hardware and networking products, collaborating with global teams, and supporting product development and release processes to ensure clear and effective communication of technical features.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and update hardware documentation such as Service Guides, Upgrade Guides, Installation Guides, Technical Specifications, and Site Preparation Guides.
- Collaborate with technical teams to prioritize documentation and ensure content aligns with branding and style standards.
- Manage documentation from creation to publishing using tools like Jira, Confluence, and CCMS.
- Create diagrams and illustrations to support documentation.
- Coordinate with global teams and review edits to colleagues' documentation.
- Mentor technical writers and incorporate feedback from customers, engineers, and support teams.
- Structure content for reuse and optimize documentation with SEO, analytics, and HTML.
- Support release cycles by providing timely documentation and identifying content gaps in sales materials and client presentations.
Requirements
- Five years of experience in technical writing for hardware and networking products.
- Demonstrated experience writing documentation in CCMS Dita.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with an emphasis on writing for technical audiences.
- Strong desire to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving documentation requirements, ensuring the content remains updated and valuable.
- Experience delivering high-quality documents within stipulated timelines.
- Experience with migrating documentation during tool platform transitions and structuring content for maximum reuse.
- Ability to advocate for and implement improved documentation practices, such as SEO optimization and analytics for user engagement.
- Strong understanding of documentation standards and practices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within strict deadlines.
- Excellent English writing and communication skills.
