Job Description
The role involves designing and developing high-performance automation and diagnostic tools using Python to improve customer support efficiency and system reliability in a data storage technology company.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance automation and diagnostic tools to improve customer support efficiency.
- Analyze complex data sets to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions to reduce resolution times.
- Collaborate with support engineers and engineering teams to translate real-world challenges into technical requirements for reliable tools.
- Own the full development lifecycle of automation tools, from concept and design to deployment and maintenance.
- Implement algorithms and technologies to ensure system reliability and high availability.
Requirements
- Deep, demonstrable expertise in Python back-end development, including architecting and implementing efficient, high-performance solutions.
- At least 4-5 years of Python back-end experience.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and utilize efficient REST APIs for seamless system integration and data exchange.
- Strong knowledge of database interaction, including experience with SQL-based relational databases such as Postgres and MySQL, and relevant Python modules such as SQLAlchemy.
- Mastery of modern software development practices, including version control using Git and familiarity with navigating and maintaining Linux/Unix environments.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to define complex issues, draw valid conclusions from data, and maintain project scope to meet aggressive objectives and timelines.
- Experience in designing and implementing high-reliability systems achieving six nines (99.9999%) reliability.
- Ability to drive and own the full development lifecycle for new automation and diagnostic tools, from initial concept and architectural design through to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
- Experience analyzing complex, unstructured data sets to identify opportunities for automation and delivering efficient software solutions to improve product support efficiencies and reduce resolution times.
- Partnering with global Technical Support Engineers and other Engineering teams to understand real-world challenges and translating those needs into technical requirements for reliable, tested, and well-documented tool sets.
- Applying expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) to ensure code quality, accuracy, and maintainability across all delivered software solutions.
- Ability and willingness to work in an in-office environment at either Bellevue, Washington or Lehi, Utah, in accordance with company policies.
