Job Description
A Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer at Pure Storage is responsible for understanding customer needs, demonstrating technical solutions, and supporting sales efforts in the data storage industry, with a focus on storage architectures, cloud integration, and innovative technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand customer business needs and tailor storage solutions accordingly
- Collaborate with sales team, account managers, and partners to drive revenue and customer success
- Provide technical leadership and expertise on storage products and architectures
- Conduct evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations for storage solutions
- Create and deliver technical presentations to customers to secure technical wins
- Translate customer requirements into innovative storage solutions to support growth
- Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation
- Develop technical marketing materials and stay current with industry trends and competitors
Requirements
- Pre-sales experience of 5 or more years supporting the sales of enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise accounts.
- Deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client-server and web-based computing solutions.
- Familiarity with modern web architecture such as the LAMP stack, scale-out vs scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, and microservices architecture is a plus.
- Experience supporting the sales of enterprise storage solutions and contributing to responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
- Superior knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, and SAN.
- Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environments.
- Experience with installation and configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems.
- Strong knowledge of digital transformation to Cloud Native architecture, On-Premises, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.
- Knowledge of VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and microservices architectures including containers and Kubernetes is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to target new prospects and convert them into clients.
- Experience leading or contributing significantly to responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop an exhaustive understanding of customer business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ability to connect technology solutions, including Pure Storage portfolio and others from the ecosystem, to measurable customer business outcomes.
- Experience supporting the sales process as a technical expert during evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations.
- Ability to build and deliver technical product and architecture presentations to customers to secure technical wins.
- Strong understanding of storage-intensive applications and their requirements, such as structured databases like SQL and Oracle.
