Job Description
The role involves leading the strategic development and execution of Pure's core container platform, overseeing its reliability, security, and scalability, while managing a high-performing engineering team responsible for container runtime and orchestration across storage products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the engineering team responsible for core container runtime and orchestration framework on FlashArray and FlashBlade.
- Define and execute the multi-year roadmap for the unified container infrastructure, including architectural decisions for scalability, reliability, and security.
- Own the container lifecycle management, including over-the-air updates, persistence, rollbacks, and failure handling.
- Develop and implement operational policies, resource management guardrails, and security standards for containerized services.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and senior leadership to communicate platform strategy and negotiate solutions.
Requirements
- Proven leadership in software engineering with experience successfully leading and mentoring teams building complex, large-scale, or distributed systems, fostering technical excellence, ownership, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strategic technical expertise in platform or systems-level engineering, with experience designing and delivering highly reliable, secure, and performant solutions across diverse technology stacks.
- Experience defining technical direction, setting clear priorities and roadmaps, and making high-impact architectural decisions that align with long-term business and product goals.
- Skilled at navigating organizational complexity and building alignment across time zones and functions, partnering effectively with product, security, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to deliver results at scale.
- Strong influence and negotiation skills, with the ability to bring clarity and structure to ambiguity, driving consensus through strong communication, empathy, and a deep understanding of technical and business trade-offs.
- Work from the Prague office in compliance with Pure s policies, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
