Job Description
A Data Scientist - Procurement Spends role focused on analyzing global procurement data, developing advanced analytics and machine learning models to identify savings opportunities, improve sourcing strategies, and support procurement process improvements across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze procurement data to identify sourcing and savings opportunities.
- Consolidate and evaluate data from multiple sources including spend, contracts, and suppliers.
- Perform benchmarking against industry best practices and KPIs.
- Develop and implement machine learning models to extract insights from procurement data.
- Identify and surface supplier consolidation, savings, and negotiation opportunities.
- Partner with global stakeholders to create analytical outputs supporting strategic decisions.
- Build and maintain dashboards, data models, and reporting tools for procurement visibility.
- Support global process improvement initiatives, including automation, compliance, and policy development.
- Lead or assist in sourcing projects aligned with category strategies and procurement transformation goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
- 7 years of experience in procurement analytics, data science, or strategic sourcing with a focus on global or regional spend management.
- Strong data analytics skills with expertise in Excel, statistical modeling, and advanced analysis.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R for data manipulation, modeling, and automation.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning models including supervised, unsupervised, deep learning, and NLP.
- Experience with ERP P2P systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or Coupa.
- Experience with BI reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated experience collaborating across geographies.
- Proven ability to independently manage workload, prioritize tasks, and deliver on tight timelines.
- A strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into strategy.
- Curiosity and initiative to constantly look for better ways to inform sourcing decisions.
- A collaborative approach and ability to partner with stakeholders across business units and time zones.
- A passion for elevating procurement's impact through advanced analytics, ML, and AI-driven insights.
- Drive to innovate and continuously improve procurement processes and outcomes globally.
