Job Description

The role involves leading sales strategies and managing a high-performing sales team to drive adoption and revenue growth of cloud-native data storage solutions across regional markets, while fostering customer relationships and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead strategies to drive adoption and revenue growth for Portworx in the Western and APJ regions.
  • Build, coach, and empower a diverse sales team focused on scalable success.
  • Partner with Marketing and Customer Experience to foster customer advocacy and engagement.
  • Lead a value-based sales process optimized for SaaS and cloud-native solutions.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure strategic alignment and transparent communication.
  • Engage directly with customers, partners, and routes to market to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities.
  • Drive differentiation through integrated go-to-market plans and competitive trend analysis.
  • Lead operational initiatives including sales enablement, process improvements, and readiness programs.
  • Define and track success metrics related to pipeline, communications, and marketing activities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading high-growth software sales teams, ideally in SaaS or cloud-native technology environments.
  • A strong track record of building and executing territory and go-to-market strategies that scale over time.
  • Experience in first line leadership roles managing individual contributors (ICs) and establishing operational best practices.
  • Deep understanding of the cloud-native and Kubernetes ecosystem, DevOps, open-source software, and application modernisation.
  • Data-driven leadership mindset, with working knowledge of tools such as Salesforce SFDC and Clari.
  • Strong program management and communication skills, with the ability to align teams and measure impact.
  • Experience managing partners, vendors, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • A collaborative, inclusive leadership style with excellent influencing and decision-making abilities.
  • A passion for customer success, innovation, and building high-performing teams.
  • Living in the Western United States or being able to work in that region.
  • Ability to develop and lead strategies to drive adoption and revenue growth for Portworx across the Western and APJ Regions, aligned with multi-year business objectives.
  • Ability to build, coach, and empower a diverse and inclusive sales team focused on sustainable, scalable success.
  • Ability to partner with Marketing and Customer Experience teams to build a customer ecosystem that drives advocacy and engagement.
  • Experience leading a rigorous, value-based sales process optimized for SaaS and cloud-native software solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams to ensure strategic alignment and transparent communication with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to engage directly with customers, partners, and routes to market to strengthen relationships and uncover new opportunities.
  • Experience participating in and driving leadership in sales meetings, customer partner meetings, and industry events, particularly in the Western Region.
  • Flexibility to support APJ region which is largely remote and requires flexible time zone support.
  • Ability to develop and execute integrated go-to-market plans and stay ahead of competitive trends.
  • Experience leading operational excellence initiatives, including sales enablement, process improvement, and readiness programs.
  • Ability to define and track success metrics across pipeline generation, communications, and marketing activities.
