Job Description
This role involves designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data lakehouse platforms to enable high-value insights across the organization, focusing on data processing, architecture, performance optimization, and ensuring data quality in a cloud-native environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and operate a large-scale data lakehouse platform for product telemetry and usage data
- Design, develop, and maintain data processing services ensuring secure and compliant data flow
- Collaborate with Product and Architecture teams to develop scalable and resilient data architecture
- Optimize system performance and cost-efficiency through experimentation with new technologies and architectural patterns
- Ensure data quality and reliability through testing, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines
- Resolve complex data and interoperability issues to maintain high system availability and accessibility
- Contribute to the strategic vision of the data lakehouse for product insights and business operations
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of related professional experience in architecting, implementing, and testing various product components within large-scale, complex distributed systems.
- Proficiency in a modern backend programming language such as Go, Python, or Java, with a proven ability to write secure, high-performance, and maintainable code.
- Deep foundational understanding of distributed systems principles, data warehouse and data lakehouse concepts, networking infrastructure, and Linux operating environments.
- Exceptional knowledge of database internals including storage engines, indexing, query optimization, ACID properties, and transaction processing due to the service's behavior of integrating with other high-performance database systems.
- Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Ability to work in a primarily in-office environment at the Prague, Czechia office, in compliance with company policies, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
