Job Description
This role involves designing, developing, and modernizing high-performance IO tools for testing storage systems, providing technical leadership, and mentoring junior engineers within a storage technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement high-performance, scalable IO testing tools for block, file, and object storage.
- Modernize legacy tooling infrastructure into unified, scalable solutions using Go and Python.
- Identify tooling gaps and develop solutions to improve test coverage, failure diagnosis, and product robustness.
- Provide technical leadership through design and code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
- Contribute to the strategic vision and roadmap for IO tooling to meet evolving product and industry needs.
Requirements
- Proven history of success in software engineering with a strong background in complex systems software projects such as Distributed Systems, Linux Kernel, Storage Networking, Hypervisors, or similar high-performance infrastructure
- Advanced proficiency in both Go and Python, specifically applied to performance benchmarking, test automation, and building scalable, maintainable tooling
- Demonstrated ability to independently drive complex, cross-domain technical projects from initial concept to successful delivery with minimal oversight, influencing technical decisions across teams
- Strong track record of mentoring engineers and providing clear technical direction, coupled with excellent communication skills to effectively influence and align stakeholders
- Ability to work from the Bengaluru, India office in an in-office environment in compliance with company policies, unless on PTO, work travel, or other approved leave
