This role involves designing, developing, and validating firmware for high-performance NAND flash storage devices, ensuring their reliability and stability through comprehensive testing and debugging in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and validate firmware for NAND flash storage devices
Develop and maintain firmware verification tests to ensure stability and coverage
Design and implement regression test suites for firmware stability assessments
Investigate, debug, and analyze complex firmware and hardware issues
Create failure analysis tools and processes for root cause identification
Enhance automation and continuous integration pipelines to improve development efficiency
Collaborate with hardware, system software, and manufacturing teams to align validation efforts
Requirements
Deep, hands-on experience in developing software to validate hardware components systems and strong skills in both software and hardware debugging.
Expert-level knowledge of NAND Flash technology and the Firmware Architecture Design within Solid State Drives (SSD) or comparable storage domains.
Proven ability to devise, implement, automate, and refine qualification methods independently, focusing on complex failure modes of flash-based devices.
Proficiency in Python with exposure to Object-Oriented Programming and experience with C/C++ for developing robust test frameworks and validation code.
Demonstrated knowledge of storage architectures, hardware design, and storage interfaces, preferably within an enterprise data storage or SSD component vendor environment.
Experience in developing software to validate hardware components and systems.
Ability to investigate and debug complex firmware and hardware issues, creating failure analysis tools and processes to drive root cause identification and continuous improvement.
Experience in designing and delivering firmware regression test suites that assess firmware stability during nightly and weekly runs.
Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining firmware verification tests for key SSD NAND features to ensure end-to-end coverage and stability for all DFM releases.
Ability to collaborate closely with hardware, system software, and manufacturing teams to align validation efforts with design changes and production requirements.
