Job Description
This role involves end-to-end software development for system firmware and management software for storage platforms, focusing on architecture, coding, system design, and collaboration with hardware teams to ensure system reliability and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end software development for system lifecycle, including architecture, coding, release, and maintenance.
- Build and enhance system software for inventory, configuration, monitoring, failover, and enclosure management.
- Design and implement interfaces between software and hardware components, collaborating with hardware teams on system bring-up and firmware management.
- Architect and implement firmware architecture and system management software for storage platforms.
- Develop, review, and ensure the quality of code, design documents, use-cases, and test plans.
- Write and maintain automated unit tests and generate software quality reports.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure code security compliance.
- Manage module development as a product owner, tracking progress in Agile systems.
Requirements
- Possess expert-level knowledge in system software and platform security specifically for x86 ARM-based Rack Blade server systems.
- Requires strong awareness of industry standards and specifications, including Open Compute, OpenBMC, IPMI, DMTF, and Redfish, as well as general open-source principles.
- Proven experience in customizing Linux distributions tailored for embedded, desktop, server, or cloud applications.
- Experience working with upstream open-source communities.
- Solid working knowledge of common tools and frameworks used in CI/CD environments.
- A Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
