Job Description
A Systems Engineering Manager at Pure Storage leads and develops a high-performing team of pre-sales Systems Engineers, driving technical sales strategies and solutions for data storage, cloud, and AI-driven data solutions to support enterprise clients and foster business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of pre-sales Systems Engineers.
- Guide technical demand creation, validation, and customer solution development.
- Demonstrate technical leadership in storage products, architectures, and solutions.
- Translate customer business needs into innovative storage solutions.
- Support sales strategy refinement and technical responsibilities in customer engagements.
- Author responses to RFIs and RFPs to support sales opportunities.
- Identify and pursue new opportunities for interoperability, testing, and validation.
- Stay informed on market trends and promote thought leadership within the organization.
Requirements
- 5 years of Management experience leading high performing Sales Engineers selling in Commercial or Enterprise Accounts
- 10 years experience supporting the sales of storage, networking or systems solutions to a combination of large accounts and data centers
- Deep understanding of the architecture, design and implementation of multi-tiered client server and web-based computing solutions
- Prior experience in setting team strategy to acquire new prospects and converting them into clients
- Knowledge of business impact of current and emerging storage architectures including FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN
- Strong knowledge of digital transformation to a Cloud Native architecture, On-Prem, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers
- Knowledge of VMWare, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP IP and general networking
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other technical degree and/or equivalent experience
