Job Description
The role involves leading regional technical teams and strategies to drive revenue growth, support large enterprise sales, and ensure technical success in data storage solutions, while fostering a strong company culture and building relationships with clients and partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and orchestrate technical resources within the APJ region to support sales and growth strategies.
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies to increase revenue and market share.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of System Engineers and Managers.
- Engage directly with clients and key stakeholders to lead technical discussions and establish trust.
- Collaborate with sales and pre-sales teams to strategize on opportunities and manage the sales pipeline.
- Build and maintain relationships with regional partners, alliances, and cross-functional teams.
- Analyze and report on technical pipeline, forecasts, and key business metrics.
- Ensure team members have the necessary skills, knowledge, and performance to meet sales and technical goals.
- Promote and uphold the company's culture, values, and recognition programs.
Requirements
- Proven experience of successfully leading a senior technical team, including hiring, mentoring, and developing a world-class team of System Engineers, Managers, and Systems Engineers, ensuring technical success throughout the sales process.
- Substantial experience in selling into large organizations, with a thorough understanding of what it takes to be successful in a large-scale, complex IT sales environment.
- Proven track record of working on and leading large IT projects, including consulting, pre-sales and post-sales transformational IT services, or IT design and build projects within IT departments.
- Experience in leading initiatives to move upmarket across all segments of the business, with a focus on expanding into larger enterprise clients.
- Ability to establish oneself as a thought leader and trusted advisor with key senior client stakeholders during client engagements.
- Experience in working closely with sales and pre-sales leadership to establish and track progress against strategic plans for creating long-term, sustainable growth.
- Ability to lead, report, and analyze the pipeline and forecast from a technical perspective.
- Strong organizational leadership skills, including the ability to help define and execute regional strategies in collaboration with sales leadership.
- Experience in developing, improving, and maintaining technical resources and ensuring their efficient deployment to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Ability to align technical messaging and approach across cross-functional teams including Channel, Data Architects, PSE, FSA, CTO, and PS organizations.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with technical counterparts within regional alliance and channel partners.
- Deep understanding of key sales metrics related to sales performance and how the system engineering team can contribute to improving those metrics.
- Deep understanding of key metrics for the system engineering team, and the ability to leverage those metrics to measure team progress and achievement.
- Experience in evaluating the performance of system engineers, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing process optimizations.
- Ability to communicate effectively and lead cross-functional teams, including soft skills such as leadership and team motivation.
- Strong ethics and personal integrity, with a commitment to treating people with respect and fostering a positive team culture.
- Willingness to work primarily in an in-office environment at the Singapore office, in compliance with company policies.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes and make necessary adjustments to operations as needed.
- Active participation in regional industry events, conferences, and forums as a thought leader, and promotion of products and solutions.
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, including engaging with customers, partners, and prospects to understand their business challenges and industry trends.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to cascade goals and technical information throughout teams and to external stakeholders.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical issues or enhancement requests from customers to technical support, product management, and R&D teams.
