The role involves testing, debugging, and qualifying hardware designs for high-performance storage solutions, working closely with hyperscale customers and internal teams to ensure product robustness and reliability throughout various development phases.
Key Responsibilities
Test, debug, and qualify hardware design projects in collaboration with hyperscale customers, ODM/JDM partners, and internal teams.
Participate in product development phases including design validation, manufacturing testing, failure analysis, and field support.
Develop, implement, and automate hardware validation and qualification test plans.
Debug testbeds and hardware-related escalations internally and externally.
Improve qualification processes to enhance efficiency, consistency, and product robustness.
Perform failure and root cause analysis to support system hardening and customer issue resolution.
Analyze large datasets from test results and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Requirements
5 years experience as a Hardware Validation Engineer.
Experience working at enterprise data storage system companies, server product companies, or companies with server fleet preferred.
Strong experience with scripting languages such as Python, bash, csh, etc., for test development and hardware configuration.
Strong understanding of X86 server architecture, BIOS, BMC firmware, and a proven track record of productization.
Proficient in some variant of Linux OS environment.
Experience planning, implementing, and automating hardware qualification processes.
Highly self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, technical development environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
Ability to perform basic administration of lab infrastructure, testbeds, and provide configuration and maintenance support.
Ability to perform failure and root cause analysis activities in support of system hardening efforts and customer escalations.
Ability to analyze large datasets from test results and distill findings into clear, actionable summaries for stakeholders at all levels.
