Job Description
The Head of Critical Infrastructure MEP Facilities oversees the design, management, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across company sites, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, sustainability, and compliance while leading project execution and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems and facilities operations across sites.
- Manage project coordination for MEP aspects of construction and infrastructure projects, including vendor contracts and stakeholder engagement.
- Supervise daily operations and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Develop and enforce procedures to ensure system reliability, safety, and compliance with EHS regulations.
- Plan and optimize space utilization and infrastructure upgrades in line with business needs.
- Coordinate building modifications, retrofits, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Manage procurement processes, vendor onboarding, and bid evaluations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to ensure regulatory compliance and sustainability goals.
Requirements
- Deep technical knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, UPS, DG, Fire detection, and fire suppression systems.
- Well-versed in the latest industry trends, green building practices, and compliance norms such as NBC, IS Codes, ASHRAE, etc.
- Proven ability to interpret design documents, drawings, and technical specifications, and provide advice to improve the efficiency and reliability of the proposed systems.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing energy-saving initiatives and capital projects.
- Excellent communication skills in English and local languages.
- Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, including cross-functional coordination.
- Analytical mindset with strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong project management and construction management capabilities.
- Experience in overseeing all aspects of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems and broader facilities operations across multiple sites.
- Experience in project and facilities management, ensuring seamless operations, compliance with safety and statutory regulations, and implementation of sustainable, energy-efficient solutions.
- Experience in managing vendor contracts, negotiations, and relationships with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Experience in preparing and presenting project status reports, budgets, ROI analyses, and procurement plans.
- Experience in providing layout and planning support for office, lab, and data center expansions and relocations.
- Experience in supervising day-to-day operations and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, including diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues, and implementing preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
- Experience in developing and enforcing standard operating procedures related to facilities operations.
- Experience in managing compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) laws, codes, and regulations.
- Experience in managing transportation logistics for employees and visitors as part of site operations.
- Experience in strategic facilities planning, including optimizing space utilization and coordinating building modifications, retrofits, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Experience in preparing permit applications and compliance documentation for regulatory agencies.
- Experience in coordinating with procurement for tendering, bid evaluation, and vendor onboarding.
- Experience in collaborating with finance, engineering, and operations teams to align facility goals with business priorities.
- Experience in interfacing with local authorities, government agencies, and auditors to maintain legal and environmental compliance.
