Job Description
This role involves leading strategic financial planning, operational automation, and cross-functional business partnership within a high-growth technology company, focusing on supporting product development and engineering teams with financial analysis, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Product Development and Engineering teams to shape financial strategy and drive automation.
- Lead short- and medium-term financial planning and forecasting for relevant teams.
- Create and analyze P&L simulation scenarios and manage Capital Expenditures and Operating Expenses.
- Support building end-to-end business models for strategic planning.
- Collect, analyze, and consolidate financial and operational performance data for reporting.
- Assist in the financial close process, including accruals and variance analysis.
- Drive process improvements and develop templates to enhance operational efficiency.
- Implement system and process improvements to align financial workflows.
- Lead automation of manual tasks using tools like SQL, Snowflake, Tableau, and AI technologies.
- Manage budget reporting, fund transfers, and purchase order reviews for accurate tracking.
- Act as a finance business partner to internal teams and external parties.
- Collaborate with finance teams and stakeholders to support decision-making and operational efficiencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent.
- At least 6 to 8 years of experience in progressively more complex finance roles, with a solid background in financial planning and analysis.
- Experience partnering with Research Development teams is a plus.
- Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, and can simultaneously manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to cultivate productive relationships and collaborate across functions, leveraging strong communication, influence, and negotiation skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Advanced Excel and Google Sheets modeling and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in SQL, Snowflake, Tableau or similar tools.
- Experience supporting or building automations with AI technologies such as ChatGPT or GPT-based solutions.
- Experience supporting financial close processes, including accruals, monthly close variance analysis, and ad-hoc financial modeling and analysis.
- Experience in financial planning, forecasting, and modeling, including creating and driving simulation scenarios of the P&L, and managing Capital Expenditures (CapEx) and Operating Expenses (OpEx).
- Experience in expense management, including modeling and managing CapEx and OpEx to meet company operating margins and resetting expense targets based on quarterly performance.
- Experience in building end-to-end business models for mid- and long-term strategic planning.
- Experience in collecting, analyzing, and consolidating key business and financial performance information, operational metrics, and ad-hoc reporting.
- Experience supporting the financial close process, including accruals and variance analysis.
- Experience in process improvement, template development, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance operational efficiency.
- Experience in process and system improvements to align financial processes.
- Experience in automating and streamlining manual tasks using tools such as SQL, Snowflake, Tableau, and AI technologies.
- Experience in budget management, including reporting in appropriate cost centers, managing fund transfers, and reviewing and approving purchase orders.
- Familiarity with ASC842 lease accounting standards is a plus.
- Prior accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and invoicing experience is highly preferable.
