Job Description
This role involves leading strategic financial planning, automating operational processes, and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive financial insights and efficiency within a cutting-edge data storage company.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead short- and medium-term financial planning and forecasting for Product Development and Engineering teams
- Create and drive simulation scenarios of profit and loss, including Topline analysis, to support strategic decision-making
- Model and manage Capital Expenditures (CapEx) and Operating Expenses (OpEx) to ensure real-time clarity and meet operating margins
- Support the development of end-to-end business models for mid- and long-term strategic planning
- Collect, analyze, and consolidate financial and operational performance data and prepare ad-hoc reports
- Assist in the financial close process, including accruals, variance analysis, and financial modeling
- Drive process improvements and develop templates to enhance operational efficiency and reporting
- Implement system and process improvements to align financial workflows
- Automate manual tasks using tools such as SQL, Snowflake, Tableau, and AI technologies
- Manage budget reporting, fund transfers, and purchase order reviews to ensure accurate tracking
- Act as a finance business partner to internal teams and external parties
- Collaborate with internal finance functions and external stakeholders to finalize leasing arrangements
- Support business decision-making and operational efficiencies through financial insights
Requirements
- Experience in leading short- and medium-term financial planning and forecasting for product development and engineering teams, including the ability to create and drive simulation scenarios of the profit and loss statement with significant topline analysis to provide strategic options to the business.
- Proficiency in fully modeling and managing Capital Expenditures (CapEx) and Operating Expenses (OpEx) to provide real-time clarity and meet company operating margins, with flexibility to reset expense targets based on quarterly performance.
- Ability to support building end-to-end business models for mid- and long-term strategic planning.
- Experience in collecting, analyzing, and consolidating key business and financial performance information, operational metrics, and preparing various special projects and ad-hoc reports.
- Support experience in the financial close process, including managing accruals, conducting monthly close variance analysis, and performing ad-hoc financial modeling and analysis.
- Proficiency in driving scalable process improvements, developing templates, and collaborating cross-functionally to enhance operational efficiency and optimize planning and reporting processes.
- Experience in process and system improvements to better align multiple financial processes.
- Ability to lead automation and streamlining of manual tasks using tools such as SQL, Snowflake, Tableau, and AI technologies like ChatGPT or GPT-based solutions.
- Experience in managing budgets, ensuring correct reporting in appropriate cost centers, managing fund transfers, and reviewing and approving purchase orders to ensure accurate budget tracking.
- Experience acting as a finance business partner to product development and engineering organizations.
- Ability to collaborate with internal finance teams (accounting, treasury, tax, FP&A) and external parties to finalize leasing arrangements.
- Strong focus on supporting business decision-making and driving operational efficiencies through financial insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (implied by the requirement for financial modeling and analysis skills).
