Job Description

The role involves leading and managing a high-performing team of Pre-Sales Systems Engineers to drive strategic growth and technical success in the data storage industry, while aligning sales and technical strategies and fostering a strong company culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a team of Pre-Sales Systems Engineers to drive strategic outcomes and technical success.
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies to grow revenue and ensure long-term, sustainable growth.
  • Manage pipeline analysis, forecasting, and technical reporting to support sales objectives.
  • Hire, retain, and develop a high-performing team of SE Managers and Systems Engineers.
  • Align technical messaging and approach across cross-functional teams and partner organizations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal teams, partners, and industry networks.
  • Promote company culture, recognize outstanding performance, and foster team development.
  • Engage with customers, partners, and prospects to understand business challenges and support pre-sales activities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and seminars as a thought leader.
  • Act as regional executive sponsor for large opportunities and support product and solution promotion.

Requirements

  • 15 years experience in a field Pre-sales position.
  • Experience leading a team with direct management responsibilities in a large geography.
  • Must have previous experience supporting the growth of a rapidly expanding organization and managed initiatives aimed at achieving 20% revenue growth.
  • Willingness to travel as needed on a regular basis.
  • Ability to support and develop a high-performing team of Pre-Sales Systems Engineers and SE Managers.
  • Experience in setting technical vision, developing top Sales Engineer talent, and aligning Pre-Sales strategy with go-to-market priorities.
  • Experience in engaging directly with sales and pre-sales leadership to strategize on team opportunities and ensure correct engagement on pre-sales activities.
  • Ability to lead, report, and analyze pipeline and forecast from a technical perspective.
  • Experience in retaining, hiring, and leading a world-class team of technical professionals.
  • Ability to develop, improve, and maintain resources to meet and exceed sales goals while supporting customer and partner needs.
  • Experience in mentoring, coaching, and conducting regular 1-on-1s with team members to provide feedback and skills development.
  • Ability to ensure all team members have clear goals and Individual Development Plans.
  • Experience in aligning technical messages and approaches across cross-functional teams including Partner Technical Managers, Data Architects, PSE, FSA, CTO, CX, and PS organizations.
  • Ability to build relationships and alignment with technical counterparts within regional Alliance and Channel partners.
  • Strong ethics and personal integrity, treating people with respect at all times.
  • High degree of accountability and ownership.
  • Effective communication skills to cascade goals and technical issues throughout teams and with cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes and make necessary operational adjustments.
  • Self-starter with high motivation and active contribution to regional opportunities and industry events.
  • Ability to promote products and solutions at conferences, forums, and seminars.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity to understand customer challenges, industry trends, and competition.
  • Strong soft skills including effective communication, relationship building, and leadership.
