Job Description

The role involves leading and managing a high-performing team of Pre-Sales Systems Engineers to drive strategic sales outcomes, develop technical vision, and support revenue growth in the data storage industry, while fostering team development and maintaining the company's culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a team of Pre-Sales Systems Engineers to drive strategic outcomes and technical success.
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies to grow revenue and achieve sales goals.
  • Manage pipeline analysis, forecasting, and technical engagement with sales and pre-sales leadership.
  • Hire, retain, and develop a high-performing team of SE Managers and Systems Engineers.
  • Align technical messaging and approach across cross-functional teams and regional partners.
  • Build and maintain relationships within the organization, with partners, and in the industry.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and seminars as a thought leader.
  • Ensure team adherence to company culture, values, and recognition of outstanding performance.

Requirements

  • 15 years of experience in a field Pre-sales position.
  • Experience leading a team with direct management responsibilities in a large geography.
  • Must have previous experience supporting the growth of a rapidly expanding organization and managed initiatives aimed at achieving 20% revenue growth.
  • Willingness to travel as needed on a regular basis.
  • Ability to support and develop a high-performing team of Pre-Sales Systems Engineers and SE Managers.
  • Experience in setting technical vision, developing technical talent, and aligning Pre-Sales strategy with company go-to-market priorities.
  • Experience in engaging directly with sales and pre-sales leadership to strategize on opportunities and ensure correct engagement on pre-sales activities.
  • Ability to analyze and report on pipeline and forecast from a technical perspective.
  • Experience in hiring, retaining, and leading a team, including conducting regular 1-on-1s, providing constructive feedback, and skills development.
  • Ability to develop, improve, and maintain resources to meet and exceed sales goals while supporting customer and partner needs.
  • Experience in ensuring alignment of technical messaging and approach across overlay functions including Partner Technical Managers, Data Architects, PSE, FSA, CTO, CX, and PS organizations.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with technical counterparts within regional Alliance and Channel partners.
  • Strong ethics and personal integrity, treating people with respect at all times.
  • High degree of accountability and ownership.
  • Excellent communication skills to cascade goals and communicate technical issues effectively.
  • Ability to adapt and adjust to changes quickly and effectively analyze employee actions for productivity improvements.
  • Self-starter and highly motivated with active contribution to regional opportunities and industry events.
  • Experience supporting the growth of a rapidly expanding organization and managing initiatives aimed at achieving 20% revenue growth.
