Job Description
The Senior Harness Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing the end-to-end process of electrical wire harnesses for satellites, ensuring they meet performance and environmental standards for space applications, and collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to support manufacturing and integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver wire harness solutions from concept to production, including creating 3D routing models and 2D fabrication drawings.
- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers to develop system integration plans and ensure electrical integrity.
- Select components such as connectors, terminals, wires, and protection materials to meet performance and environmental requirements.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Support manufacturing and integration teams by troubleshooting build challenges and resolving design issues to ensure quality and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical field
- 6 years of experience in developing electrical wire harnesses, routing in complex assemblies, and creating 2D and 3D CAD documentation
- Expertise in CAD software for harness design and routing (e.g., RapidHarness, SolidWorks Electrical, etc.)
- Proficiency in reading and creating electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Solid understanding of version control for design files and managing documentation releases to production
- Familiarity with IPC, NASA, and other harness design standards
- Application of knowledge of industry standards for cable and harness assembly
- Hands-on experience with harness fabrication, including crimping, soldering, and building prototypes
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software
- Ability to access export-controlled information without additional export licensing, as required by EAR ITAR regulations

Salary range of $162,600 - $203,200 USD (plus potential bonuses and incentives)
