Job Description
A Satellite Tasking Engineer supports the planning and execution of Earth observation satellite imagery collection, analyzing performance, developing operational tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize satellite data acquisition processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support satellite collection planning during operational processes
- Prepare geospatial data, maps, and dashboards for analysis
- Conduct feasibility studies for satellite imagery acquisition
- Develop, validate, and automate operational tools
- Monitor and analyze collection performance and order status
- Collaborate with teams such as image quality support, orbits, mission software, space operations, data pipeline, and product teams
- Proactively improve existing operational processes
Requirements
- Four years of relevant experience in a related field such as satellite operations, geospatial data analysis, or software development.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, engineering, or geo science.
- Software development experience in Python or an equivalent programming language.
- Data-driven mindset and comfortable with data analysis.
- Sound SQL skills and familiarity with git version control.
- Understanding of satellite imagery and remote sensing.
- Self-starter who proactively tackles problems and brings in their own ideas.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Team player with an ability to learn and collaborate across teams.
- Fluent in written and spoken English, the language of the company.
- Access to export-controlled information and ability to access all applicable export-controlled information without additional export licensing being required by the Bureau of Industry and Security or the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
