Job Description
The Mission Operations Training Specialist is responsible for designing and delivering technical training programs to onboard and enable Planet's internal teams and customers in satellite operations, ground operations, and collection planning, ensuring effective use of constellation services to achieve mission goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and manage customer training programs for constellation services
- Create and deliver engaging training content, assessments, and onboarding materials
- Support internal and customer training needs, including technical product training and LMS management
- Maintain and optimize training assets and systems for accuracy and efficiency
- Identify training needs through data analysis and cross-functional collaboration
- Monitor and evaluate training program effectiveness and implement continuous improvements
- Develop learning paths and training artifacts to enhance customer understanding and operational capabilities
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic training initiatives and program scope planning
Requirements
- Six (6) years of dedicated experience in customer training or a closely related technical capacity, preferably within a Space or a related industry.
- Expertise and experience driving adoption and strategic use of a comprehensive tech stack, including Jira, Confluence, Python, and learning management systems (LMS).
- Cross-functional project or program management experience.
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging training, including classroom instruction.
- Familiarity and working knowledge of Instructional Design and design authoring tools such as Rise.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- This position requires access to export-controlled information, and employment or hiring of a contractor is contingent upon the candidate’s ability to access all applicable export-controlled information without additional export licensing being required by the Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.

US base salary range of 121,840 - 152,320 USD, with potential for discretionary bonuses and equity
