Job Description
The Mission Operations Training Specialist is responsible for designing and delivering technical training programs to onboard and enable customers in utilizing Planet's satellite constellation services, ensuring operational knowledge transfer and optimizing mission impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and manage customer training programs related to satellite operations, ground operations, and collection planning.
- Create and deliver engaging training content, assessments, and learning materials.
- Support onboarding, technical product training, and continuous education for internal teams and customers.
- Maintain and optimize training systems, assets, and documentation for accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify training needs through data analysis and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and implement improvements.
- Partner with leadership on strategic training initiatives and assessment design.
Requirements
- Six (6) years of dedicated experience in customer training or a closely related technical capacity, preferably within a Space or a related industry.
- Expertise and experience driving adoption and strategic use of a comprehensive tech stack, including Jira, Confluence, Python, and learning management systems (LMS).
- Cross-functional project or program management experience.
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging training, including classroom instruction.
- Familiarity and working knowledge of Instructional Design and design authoring tools such as Rise.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- This position requires access to export-controlled information, and employment or hiring of a contractor is contingent upon the candidate’s ability to access all applicable export-controlled information without additional export licensing being required by the Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.

US base salary range of 121,840 - 152,320 USD
