Job Description
The Program Manager will lead complex projects to support the adoption of Planet's satellite data platform by government and defense clients, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing proposals, and ensuring successful project delivery and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive complex projects to scale governmental customer adoption of the Planet Platform and data products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project methodology, scope, objectives, and success metrics
- Develop and deliver proposals for defense intelligence customers by gathering technical inputs and articulating value propositions
- Manage project scope, schedules, costs, and risks to ensure successful delivery
- Coordinate with stakeholders to provide project updates and ensure alignment on strategy and progress
- Design and implement processes for operational excellence and scalability
- Manage contracts with subcontractors, including task assignment, deliverable tracking, and budget management
- Measure project performance and customer satisfaction to inform continuous improvement
Requirements
- Six (6) years of experience in project management experience, including experience supporting proposal development for government or defense-sector customers.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience preparing and contributing to technical proposals.
- Experience working with or as part of the Defense and Intelligence community.
- Ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects in a technical or product development setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage competing priorities and adapt quickly in dynamic environments.
- A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to balance day-to-day responsibilities with forward-looking improvements.
