Job Description
The role involves managing and supporting U.S. and Canadian defense and intelligence customers by providing expertise in remote sensing and geospatial imagery, ensuring they derive maximum value from Planet's platform and data, and fostering long-term relationships to support mission-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with Defense and Intelligence customers in the U.S. and Canada.
- Onboard, train, and support customers in effectively using Planet's platform, data, and solutions.
- Act as a technical advisor by providing hands-on support and guidance on geospatial and remote sensing data.
- Identify opportunities for product expansion and manage renewals through collaboration with sales teams.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Product, Support, Professional Services) to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Customer Success, account management, or related fields.
- Experience collaborating with the U.S. Department of Defense and/or Intelligence Community.
- Proficient in remote sensing, GIS, or geospatial imagery products, particularly in their applications within the DoD and IC sectors.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Technical experience in remote sensing platforms and solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to accurately capture customer requirements and relay needs and impacts to leadership and product teams.
- Experience with geospatial software such as QGIS, SocketGXP, Esri products, GDAL, or equivalent.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel as required.
- This position requires access to export-controlled information, and employment or hiring of a contractor is contingent upon the candidate’s ability to access all applicable export-controlled information without additional export licensing being required by the Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
