Job Description

A strategic account manager role focused on driving sales, developing customer relationships, and creating strategic plans for regional key accounts within a technical and industrial automation environment, requiring a mix of technical knowledge and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales of Phoenix Contact products by developing and executing strategic account plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across management, procurement, engineering, and sales departments.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to support strategic account growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement strategic roadmaps and initiatives to increase account share, revenue, and profitability.
  • Conduct business reviews, monitor competitive activity, and recommend improvements for assigned strategic accounts.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and sales materials; support product demonstrations and technical solutions.
  • Utilize CRM systems for tracking client information, reporting, and measuring sales activities.
  • Qualify sales opportunities, follow up on quotations, and provide forecasts and performance reports.

Requirements

  • Must have a four-year degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years sales experience in the electronics or industrial automation controls marketplace.
  • Experience working with distribution is preferred.
  • Excellent networking, and influencing skills needed to communicate at all levels.
  • Exhibits high-level interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Successful history in achieving strategic and sales targets.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Must be able to travel via airplane.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel via automobile for up to six hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to travel overnight 20-25 nights as dictated by assigned territory.
  • Comply with company dress code guidelines.
  • Punctuality is required, with regular and on-time attendance.
